The A & J Scott sponsored Berwick Bandits caught an unsuspecting septet of Birmingham Brummies with the early signs of resurgence with a fine seven points win at Shielfield Park last night.
Not only was the result correct, but the track was once again back to it’s superb best, which in turn produced some of the best racing in 2010 so far.

Magnificent Magnus Makes Semi-Final In Sweden
Veteran Magnus Zetterstrom produced a stunning display on a very wet night in Gothenburg to reach the Semi-Finals of the Speedway Grand Prix.
Whilst others around him failed to handle the difficult track conditions, Zorro shone and had without doubt one of the best moments of his career. After the meeting he revealed how pleased he was with his performance.

Berwick Take 20 point lead to second leg
Berwick “A & J Scott” Bandits are 20-points up going into this afternoon’s second leg of the 2010 Knockout Cup (first round) at the Newport Wasps down in Gwent.
Newport held their own pretty well considering they had been reduced to a five-man team with the non-arrival due to a reported breakdown en-route for the two Swedes, Kim Nilsson and Anders Mellgren who were travelling together.

Bandits In KO Cup this weekend
Berwick’s Bandits begin their 2010 Knock-Out Cup campaign this weekend, racing twice against speedway’s only Welsh team on Saturday (at Shielfield Park) and Sunday afternoon down in Monmouthshire.
“These are very important matches” explained a spokesperson for the A & J Scott Bandits last night.
“The winning team -- on aggregate, over the two matches – will progress to the quarter-finals, where they will meet either Stoke or Workington”.

Berwick Speedway: Bandits have big dust problems.
Ever since the Anderson/Waite families took over running Berwick speedway just over a year ago, and reappointed famed local track curator Ian Rae to prepare their Saturday-night racing surface, the Bandits have had no problems with dust --- until now!
The dust which is affecting tonight’s vital Premier Trophy fixture against Glasgow Tigers isn’t the kind that Ian Rae can dampen down with careful watering of the Shielfield circuit however – it is the dust which continues to pour out of Mount Eyjafallajokull in Iceland!

Craig Branney excelled against his home-town side being paid for 16 points whilst Jade Mudgway weighed in with a well constructed seven plus two and of course the Czech-mates Michal Makovsky and Adrian Rymel did their bit as skipper Paul Clews performed more of his thrilling wide line racing.
