The Anderson Are Back

Saving the day, everyone involved at Anderson’s Quality Butchers Berwick Bandits are delighted to welcome back an excellent old friend.Anderson’s Quality Butchers are back as main team sponsors for the Berwick Bandits in 2008, dramatically saving a lot of heartache behind the scenes at the border club.

The last minute life-line for the team, to be known as “Anderson’s Quality Butchers Berwick Bandits” has been a very welcome relief for club boss Peter Waite who had been desperately searching for a team backer.

Their return means they are keen to embark on their third consecutive year as sponsors emphasising their passion for Berwick Speedway and their determination to see the club succeed.

Promoter Peter Waite said: “I have to say a massive thank you to Anderson’s Quality Butchers for giving us this huge life at just the right time- just before we get going for the new season.
“As a company we couldn’t hope for a more committed company to the Bandits and their desire for us to win something is just as strong as the management and riders, and indeed the supporters too.

“Anderson’s are 110% behind us and as real supporters all aspects of the club will benefit. It’s a massive boost to us and we welcome them with open arms.”

Anderson’s Quality Butchers are a family business run by John and Liz, and their sons Mark, Ryan, and Cameron in the towns of North Berwick and East Linton.

John buys top quality cattle from Lothian and borders farms, which are then hung for three weeks. The Anderson’s pride themselves on buying the best cattle available, and, as a result, producing the finest meat for their customer’s pleasure.

The Anderson’s Butcher shops lie in the heart of East Lothian, which is famous for its excellent golf courses and fine cuisine.

The North Berwick butcher shop is located next to the Scottish Seabird Centre, which is an award winning wildlife visitor attraction. While the East Linton shop is situated a stone’s throw away from the Concorde Experience, at the Museum of Flight, East Fortune.

When visiting one of East Lothian’s popular tourist attractions why not pop in to one of the shops and sample their award winning sausages, popular steak pies, or well hung Aberdeen Angus steaks.

“There is also talk of another top-line internationally known singer coming along, and there is a sumptuous buffet overseen by our sponsors, Anderson’s Quality Butchers.

“The bar will once again be supplied by the excellent Tyneside Tavern based in Haddington.

“Tickets are on sale at a cost of £8.00 per head and available from Anderson’s Quality Butchers at East Linton and North Berwick as well as Taffy’s Time Machine in Marygate, Berwick upon Tweed and the Tyneside Tavern at 10 Poldrate in Haddington itself.
