Tero “The Hero” Aarnio
Well after reading how “the Hero” rode at Glasgow for the Isle Of Wight on Sunday I felt it was probably time to give him a little space on my blog.
Tero came into the Berwick team this year as a relatively unknown rider and many of us did not know what to expect from him. Lucky for us he started off with some ok scores for the team and quite impressed us.
Slightly into the season was when he made his biggest impact though. With a change of averages Tero was moved into the reserves berth of the team. Perhaps the best move for him in my opinion. Immediatly Tero began scoring higher and giving us great rides, beating riders far beyond him in the speedway world.
He has so far been a great rider for the Bandits and scored extremely well at reserve. However with the signing of Scott Smith he has moved back up into the main part of the team.
His first night back into the main berth did not go well, view my last two blogs to find out why, and he never got to put in his full number of rides, so the fans could not really see how he would handle being back in the main body of the team.
After the large crash Paul Fry cannot ride for a number of weeks meaning IOW were a rider down for going to Glasgow on Sunday. Tero was the man they brought in to replace him and he had an absolutely great night scoring 12. I am sure many of guests would have tried as hard as he did that night but I can gaurantee 75%++ would not score half what he scored.
Tero, my message for you is, Well done so far this season, good luck with the rest of the season and i hope to see you in the Bandits team for many years to come.
