A good or bad end to Berwicks Season ?

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Ok only 1 more meeting left at Berwick and with only 3 riders left on the team we are probably looking at a major defeat.

However to perhaps there is one good thing which has came out of this bad season ending. Peter Waite, Berwicks Promotor, has finally got his finger out (excuse the phrase) and officially released a signing for the 2008 season. However after seeing the rider ride at Edinburgh and then again at Berwick last Saturday i will say that perhaps he needs a little bit more time to practice before he moves into full PL speedway.

Crash Course In English

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Here is an article I read in the Daily Mirror after first hearing about the incident on the Berwick Speedway Website :

A czech speedway rider who could barely speak English became suddenly fluent after a head injury.

Matej Kus could hardly string a sentence together until he was knocked out racing in Glasgow.

It is thought to be a case of foreign accent syndrome, which can affect concussion patients.

Obviously this year I knew what the whole experience was going to be like and knew just how great it really was. The days running into the weekend were filled with thoughts of who was going to race and how much i wished i had £1500+ to bid on the chance to bein Hans Andersons pit crew for the GP.

Air Fences - My Views -

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Whether or not it should be compulsary to have air fences is obviously a topic which has been on everyone in the speedway communitys mind recently. This is because of the number of both serious injurys and also deaths that have happened on speedway tracks this season.
