Air Fences - My Views -

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Whether or not it should be compulsary to have air fences is obviously a topic which has been on everyone in the speedway communitys mind recently. This is because of the number of both serious injurys and also deaths that have happened on speedway tracks this season.

BERWICK BANDITS

OVER 100 former Berwick riders will be present at Shielfield Park on Saturday as the Bandits celebrate 40 years of the club with a special meeting.

Promoter Peter Waite said: “There will be memories to be rekindled for anyone who has ever supported Berwick in its whole history.

“This is a celebration of Bandits nostalgia to beat them all. It’s the meeting not to miss under any circumstances.”

Bees Revenge Mission

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

We saw from the A fixture between Coventry and Swindon just how little difference there is between these two sides and that won’t change come Monday night.

The Robins won away from home on that occasion earlier in the season and the Bees will be determined to redress the balance this time around.

That 44-46 defeat hurt Coventry badly and forced them make changes to their line-up with Morten Risager making way for new signing Steve Johnston.

Monarchs Get First Away Win Of The Season At Newport

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

The Scotwaste Monarchs fought back from a 7-point deficit to take a 47-42 victory at Newport on Sunday afternoon.

They were indebted to a spectactular and thrilling performance from guest Lee Complin, standing in for Matthew Wethers, but there were good performances elsewhere in the team, notably Ronnie Correy’s sound dozen.

Complin made brilliant use of a good outside line and was almost unstoppable, losing out only in heat 12 when Phil Morris used blocking tactics to cut off Lee’s run.
